The development of EUS services in the UK has been haphazard and training inconsistent. The British Society of Gastroenterology has charged a working group with the task of laying down a national framework for how such services might be commissioned, structured and regulated; with particular attention to defining how endoscopist skills might be acquired, assessed and maintained. This report lays out a map for this process and its future revision.
