    We write to update you on the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) funded visit to Iraq in 2021. The BSG International Committee’s strategy is to show the role of the BSG in delivering best care and outcomes for patients with the gastrointestinal and liver disease worldwide. Using the UK model to deliver healthcare in developing countries is not a straightforward process. With the world recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent political and economic instabilities in certain parts of the world, the mission of the BSG abroad will face new challenges.
