A 65-year-old man with no medical history underwent screening colonoscopy, which showed numerous cystic lesions with normal overlying mucosa in the right colon (figure 1). Biopsies yielded unremarkable superficial mucosa. CT scan of the thorax, abdomen and pelvis did not reveal any other significant pathology, but showed small locules of extraluminal air along the site of biopsy. The patient remained clinically well.
