AB  - The European Association for the Study of the Liver has recently updated guidance on haemochromatosis with a more extensive discussion on investigation and management.[ The new guidance focuses on non-invasive methods for fibrosis assessment and early diagnosis to include more extensive genetic testing if needed. Early diagnosis and treatment is vital as it reduces morbidity and mortality. We review this guideline and offer key updated messages with a focus on new developments since the last guidance and key aspects of current practice.
